June 19, 2016  (Part 1)

Traveling east out of Burns, we discovered a huge body of water with lots of shorebirds and waterbirds. I was able to 5 new Oregon birds to my state list.
Hay harvest has begun.

Bruneau Dunes State Park.

Kids were sledding down the dunes.
We will cross the Snake River several times today.

The type of Wagon  used on the Oregon Trail.
Some of the types of things the pioneers took with them on the trip.

Some of the wagons came across on this ferry. Others went right into the river pulled by oxen or horses. It was a dangerous thing to do as the current between the three islands was very strong.
